There is a certain feeling that Bryden Bowley is after. One that is close to the heart, and may even hurt a little. Like the pain of a harsh slam, or walking away from a battle without getting what you came for. But it’s always followed by the thing that makes us most happy: riding away from something you didn’t think you could do. Keegan Hosefros, Justin Phipps, Miles Fallon, and Denver Orr embody this feeling and Bryden has a way of getting it. Reno, Kansas City, St. Louis, Buffalo, Jamestown, Tallinn, and Oslo, to name a few places these guys flew to. We are proud to present FLY AWAY CLOSER

Filmed and Edited by: Bryden Bowley

Featuring: Keegan Hosefros, Justin Phipps, Miles Fallon, and Denver Orr

Friends, here is a pot of hot coffee that I made just for you.
Good morning loved ones, good morning strangers.
Good morning to the light shining through my half-open blinds.

Please, take It easy on yourself today.
It’s nice to be here spending time with you.
Let’s listen to the birds outside before they fly south, speaking,
just like us to each other.

Let’s count the glowing-orange leaves as they fall from the tree,
Taking flight and using the ground as their runway.
They’ve waited their whole lives for this, flying away from their branch.
They will decompose, then look up to their counterparts, patiently waiting for them to take
flight and join them.

I’ve had dreams that I was flying.
Flying away and flying home.
Why does home have to be a place?
You’ve given me a home.

Home is awakening to a sunrise on icy Wyoming I-80. Miles behind the wheel, silently
singing along to the “wild horses” Sunday’s cover, unaware that my eyes were half-open.

Home is Keegan privately showing me an orange peel he keeps in his pocket, right before
his personal ender in how dark blue feels.
“I smell this when I get scared. It calms me down. I’ve done this since I was a kid.”

Home is observing Justin, Noah, and Keyan eagerly making music together in a rentable,
stuffy music studio at 1am. Watching their faces light up when a chord progression is
played they all equally felt something with.

Home is Reid, Cody, and Brett screaming “PRESS THAT FUCKING RED BUTTON BRYDEN”
sarcastically, then us laughing uncontrollably till our ribs hurt.

Home is the hug Robby gave me as he dropped me off at the Pittsburgh airport.

Home is standing in a field in Estonia, silently watching Denver stare at the sky with tears in
his eyes after riding away from what he came there to do.

Home is trusting someone enough to share your favorite song with.

Home is the millisecond of watching someone you love, airborne jumping into a cold ocean.
Thinking - “what will that feel like” - then they run and hug you, leaving you no choice but to
jump in with them.

Why does home have to be a place?
When we’re together, we fly home.
When I’m with you, I fly home.
When I’m with you, I’m flying.
That dark, dark, blue that we’ve all felt together.
It’s nice to be here spending time with you.

Don’t forget to fly.
