A couple context clues in this one. Kudos to you if you can tell whose garage this is. Another week, let's get into it.

Torment Weather Report: The global sea surface temperature has reached a new high. Easy to forget about this when the cooling La Niña phenomenon takes precedent during the winter.

"Countries pledged in the Paris Climate Agreement to limit global warming to well below 2 degrees – and preferably to 1.5 degrees – compared to pre-industrial temperatures. Scientists consider 1.5 degrees of warming as a key tipping point, beyond which the chances of extreme flooding, drought, wildfires and food shortages could increase dramatically."

There's no denying that Montreal roads don't fare well in the winter. Maybe it's the city's layout, or maybe the roads aren't meant to be cleared. (We like to think the latter justifies our yearly mid-winter migration). But, if you needed any more of an incentive to head to MTL, the city is implementing a 67km light metro network marking the largest transit expansion in Canadian history.

The REM is planned to open in phases between 2023 and 2027. Given it "will double the length of Montreal's rapid transit network and provide previously underserved areas of the city with rapid and frequent all-day service", we expect to see a lot more snowboards on the metro.

"Quiksilver, Billabong, and RVCA join Volcom under the same umbrella." That umbrella is referred to as Authentic Brands Group, and they just bought Boardriders for $1.4 billion. A seemingly hefty addition to Authentic’s portfolio that spans over 40 lifestyle, entertainment, and media brands.

What does this mean for Quiksilver Snow? A lot of unknowns to that question, but hopefully more East Coast tours are in that answer.

A scary nudge that winter isn't over just yet. ABC News reminds us that the PNW still has precarious snowpack.

On the topic of actual news outlets, Maggie Leon found herself on a similar platform this past week after a zoom interview with NBC Boston. Their female-centric segment, On the Mark, highlighted Maggie mindset as she co-captions the Red Bull's Slide in Tour.

Soy Sauce Nation's Stir Fry event went down last Wednesday. 2 action packed days up up at Woodward Tahoe followed by a Community Day. Video from Day 2 up on their gram.

Brin Alexander compiled 3 years worth of footage into an aptly titled self-part, Covid Analysis. One of the more productive ways to spend the pandemic.
