Around this time last year, we got an email from Hiromu Kobayashi on behalf of the Japanese crew, Third Creek Sardine. In between expressing his love for Good Sport, CONNEXIONS, and similar videos worth rewatching, he brought up an incredibly valid point that garnered our attention. No point in paraphrasing, Hiromu wrote: "...as a viewer, I can't help but feel my excitement subside every time an existing spot appears on the screen. This phenomenon is especially common in Japanese videos, where snowfall areas are limited, and clips of the same spots are used in multiple videos every year."

He took the words out of our mouth—played out spots are never fun. Hiromu continued on, claiming that his crew avoided existing spots as much as possible, spending most of the time on the hunt for what was unexplored. He closed his email with, "We believe that people with the same sensibilities as us can feel the same stimulation as we do by watching our videos." We couldn't help but hope that those supposed sensibilities were reflected in their video, and that we too would feel that stimulation.

Lo and behold, the video backed up exactly that: refreshingly new Japanese spots with heavy clips to compliment. So, when that same email chain reemerged a few days ago, we knew what to expect. This year is no different...crazy spots and good riding. The ender is a testament to that (glad to see it land on the cover of Digg Magazine), but still give all ~14 minutes a watch.
