The Hillside Project Series has grown into a sort of coveted retreat for anyone lucky enough to attend. Every year, it gives Salomon a chance to test new shapes for their best free ride boards, and after a few years of COVID-restricted riding, it only seemed right to meet up with Takaharu Nakai in the Land of the Rising Sun.
Wolle Nyvelt is always in attendance, but for the latest Hillside Project installment, they switched things up, giving Luke Lund a last minute call to head to Japan for the first time. What ensued was everything you'd expect in the backcountry of Hokkaido: unprecedented snow pack, life lessons with Louif, new beer + cuisine, and endless laughter.
