When crews keep putting out footage year after year, the word longevity starts creeping in around the four-year mark. Has the momentum slowed down? Are some homies burnt? Are others getting pulled into brand projects? Or is the whole crew just now hitting their stride? A lot can happen when you’re in the van that long, but one thing about Paid Programming...they’ve got that fine-wine effect. Maybe we’re coining the phrase right now, but they really do age better every winter — and Red Ribbon being their strongest footage to date backs it all up.
For the fifth year running, Quin Ellul, Jesse Jarrett, Martyn Vachon, Dan Bubalo, Stefan Alvarez, Mike Rotsaert and a few new faces tackle spots across Canada and the Midwest. They had a fast-paed winter, basically filming nonstop from late November through March, and between all the slams they stacked some pretty insane clips. We’ve been hearing some crazy shit about this project over the past few months, (the four-letter accolade has been getting thrown around a lot), so it’s nice to see the hearsay actually line up with it. Just like fine wine.
