“SPOTHEADS 2” A Film Following Vermont’s Finest

| December 1st, 2021 |

The Spotheads are back with their self-titled sequel, SPOTHEADS 2. We like to think that somewhere in between the rowdy bars of Church Street and UVM campus lie the Spotheads; a rather inconceivable balance between pure mayhem and productive harmony that really only these boys can sustain.

The crew may look a little different this year, but the energy and friendship that these guys bring to the table is a constant no matter what. The homies segment reflects this, not to mention that there are enough clips for this section to be its own film. But back to the stars of the movie, the ones who can’t seem to stay away from destruction. Whether Joey’s breaking another board, Zeb’s breaking his finger, or Fern’s breaking a table, this trio is doing more than enough damage in Vermont. SPOTHEADS 2 is the icing on the cake for what was arguably one of the most progressive winters for Vermont snowboarding. Thanks for adding to the extensive list of snowboard crews that make Burlington the snowboarding hotspot that it is today.

We were kind of just rolling around Champlain College looking for a spot. I don’t even know how we ended up there—just clip hungry I guess. I wanted to stall and nose pick it, but that didn’t work out. Then I had the front flip idea and of course Joey egged me on to think it was a good idea. I went a little too fast for it hahah. Kind of a hail mary.

You good Zeb?

Zeb moved to Burlington right after we filmed Processing Delay. One our homies introduced us to him, and we connected right away. Now, looking at the situation, it’s pretty funny because he’s seen as a rockstar, which he totally is, but we just clicked as friends beforehand. We’d already been filming videos before he moved to Vermont, and seeing he had never hit spots before, we were just down to help him hit stuff and watch insane shit go down. Now his schedule is so packed that whenever he has the time and is back home, he’ll tag along. That’s our boy, our neighbor even, so we’ve just grown to hang with him, party with him, do everything with him. We see him as our homie first, then the rockstar Zeb that everyone knows.

Yvng Ohm performing at the SPOTHEADS 2 premiere

When we dropped Spotheads, the premiere was a lock. It was gonna be at Burton Headquarters, as an outdoor gathering at the skate bowl. But the morning of, the Governor prohibited small gatherings for big businesses because of COVID. So, we had it at Ferns house, which ironically was where we were all spending time during the pandemic. We threw up a bed sheet on his wall with duct tape and played it out of what was probably the smallest JBL speaker you could find. Even for it being cancelled, 60 or so people showed up and safe to say it got pretty loud. Right before Zeb’s part, the cops ended up shutting it down and stuck Fern with a crazy fine. It was all fucking worth it though, and if you were wondering we’re still taking donations for Fern’s ticket, haha.

This year the premiere actually worked out, but the weather was kind of an issue. That didn’t change the night at all though. It turned out to be super sick. It was downpouring rain the whole day, super freezing, but so many people showed up and stuck it out. It was a 3-hour ordeal of homies freezing their asses of under these tents. Some real east coast shit.
