Another Tuesday we really aren't prepared for. Let's get into it.

Torment Weather Report: Winters in the northeastern United States could see a doubling of the number of extremely rainy and snowy storms by the end of the century, according to the study, recently published in the journal Climatic Change.

Extreme precipitation, like the string of Boston blizzards from 2015, will become more common as the climate warms. The big takeaway: "annual precipitation will rise and the number of days with extreme precipitation — defined in the paper as roughly 1.5 inches or the equivalent amount of snow, typically about 20 inches — will rise dramatically."

Not many can balance a full-time job at Burton while also riding on their team. Maggie Leon defied those odds for 5 years, and last week that impressive time management skillset came to an end. The Burlington local parts ways with the company, presumably to bigger and better things.

In similar, parting fashion, Josh Manoles just finished his 9th and last season with Public Snowboards. "I never thought working on one little part of a snowboard company would grow into creating an entire voice and feel for a brand. Honored to have had the opportunity and create that story."

Torment correspondent, Keenan Cawley, made it to Trollhaugen this past Saturday for Red Bull's latest event, Bonus Track. In between riding and getting poison ivy, he managed to experience more than enough magic in the woods. His <24 hour experience is up on the site now.

Sam Anderson and Pete Croasdale took 1st, with Egan Wint and Sierra Forchheimer snagging 2nd.

A new report conducted by Utah Occupational Safety and Health (UOSH) has been released following the untimely death of a ski patroller at Park City earlier this year. The report concluded the accident as a “serious violation” of workplace safety, finding Vail Resorts ultimately responsible for a $2,500 fine.

A $2,500 fine.

Nathan Harmon's photo from the Issue FIVE pubic submissions. A (not so) friendly reminder that your photographic two cents can make its way into the magazine, too.

Issue SIX public submissions are now open. Don’t be shy!

A week from now, the first session of summer camp will be well underway. Miles may not be there, but a heavy roster from the Burton crew will be in attendance to kick things off. From the looks of it, the first few days on hill will be rainy ones, with the latter half of the week opening up to partly cloudy.

Another summer operation has been in the works ever since Mammoth blew through their all-time season snowfall record of 668"...by March. Unbound will definitely be open well into July, and it wouldn't be wishful thinking to say they may remain open into the 23-24 season.

The exact facial expression you should have knowing the mag process is well underway. It'll be the the Issue SIX release party before we know it, and you'd be as tommy-on-a-jet-ski-excited to know were doing things a little bit differently this year. Goodbye Clubhouse.
