One person's trash is another person's treasure. Another week, let's get into it.
Torment Weather Report: Wildfire smoke from Canada spreads across the East, illuminating the Northeast skyline in an orange haze. This makes for one photo-worthy morning over the Empire State building, but nothing justifies the increased AQI (+140) that has prompted numerous air quality alerts.
Worthwhile checking a few of Earth Cam's most frequented NYC live streams throughout the day:
– Midtown Skyline
– Statue of Liberty Harbor
– Hudson River
The freedawgers' latest spring edit went live last week. Dawgish recaps heavy Tahoe spring laps in an ode to their late mascot Tosh. RIP.
Fellow Freedawger, Adrian Mitchell, announced his switch to Burton last week, too. "i am so excited to see what the future holds and i am extremely grateful to share the same atmosphere with so many talented snowboarders and amazing people. it doesn’t feel real, but i am so happy to be here.🖤"
Team work makes the dream work. Two years worth of cooperation + dedicated rail repair = RATED R.
"Today it appears that there's some fundamental incompatibility between ski resorts and ski towns. The very fact that they're called ski towns demonstrates that there was once a time when it was all possible." Hard to think of a time when resorts kept ski towns alive, and this video reminds us of the many reasons why.
Luke Rodnick, a former ski town resident that knows the powder dream all too well, offers an Op-Ed on the article we're referencing above.
The woods of Trollhaugen might look a little different this weekend. Inspired by his last Red Bull video that amassed almost half a million views, Benny Milam keeps the enchanted forest going with Bonus Track this Saturday. A free-to-spectate pro jam event that will challenge over a dozen riders to team up with a friend and create the best 60-second clip.
We're excited to see Benny further his enchanted forest vision, and, in an effort to experiment with Photoshop's new Generative Fill AI feature, we furthered the promo poster with the only keyword that made sense: enchanted.
Instagram Clip of the Week: A warranted Kaishu claim at Mammoth.
