Chaos in Krakow, Tree Jibbin’, Vid Bingin’, and Condition Milkin’, it’s the News…

Even this garbage can gets emptied. Let go of what weighs you down.

Torment Weather Report: A “Godzilla” atmospheric river is currently pummeling the Pacific Northwest with up to a month’s worth of rain over the course of just a few days. Unfortunately, this precip is going to remain liquid at most base areas in Washington and Oregon. There might be snow for those who are willing to hike for it, and as this unseasonably warm December marches on, that might be a requirement to get your fix, at least for the foreseeable future. We hear positive self talk helps. 😭

Despite this depressing news, there is some boarding going on around the world. Last week we mentioned Ethan Morgan’s impending chaotic event DIYX Street Jam, and unless you’ve been residing under a boulder, you’ve definitely seen the wild clips and photos coming out of Krakow. Seems like some people brought some money home too. Congrats Jess PerlmutterRob RoethlerJoey Fava, and the People’s Champ… Halldor Helgason.

The Bonezone is a go, people are boarding on no snow, on minimal snow somewhere on the East Coast, and in lots of snow further north in Vermont. Somehow, there are a shit-ton of resorts already open, but it doesn’t really feel that way.

A lot of you probably live a quick 30-minutes from your newfound plug. Tap in with Onix for a fresh restock before it's too late.

"📍 Located in Riverdale / Layton, Utah. Message me for the address. Thank u for your time 🙏🏻"

After last week’s minimal movie offerings, the tap is officially back on at full blast. We’ve got ThirtyTwo’s TR3 D2UCE, Jacob Krugmire/Ride’s It’s a Mess (heaviest street vid of the year?), Midlife Crisis Crew’s Fast Forward, Upper Management’s Trench HaulUppercut’s Side Piece, a movie called Shrimp Sandwich (Brin footy!), and something called Bushmon

Speaking of bushes, man, GNU’s Brendan Sullivan dropped a mind-boggling 6 minute video solely comprised of tree jibs. It’s called Syrup, which may be a reference to Maple Trees? Nice mature title there, because they really could have gone a different direction with all the wood jokes… ALSO from GNU, the artiste (and former Terje-defeating QP savant) Olivier Gittler put out ÉTRANGE MÉLANGE. Shot primarily on film, and featuring the stylings of up and comers Cannon Cummins and Jadyn Chomlack, plus cameos from other Mervin-associated athletes, it’s one of the most tasteful offerings of the year.

On a different note, if you’re stuck inside waiting on snow, might we suggest you peruse this fascinating Gif archive from the early days of the internet. There’s plenty of nostalgic snowboarding content, plus endless other fun little animations. Fair warning though, whatever term you search for, there’s inevitably gonna be some pixelated nudity coming your way.

Bear Mountain is officially open for biz, and with that comes a laundry list of SoCal riders that put on for opening weekend. A few comments worth noting:

- Is Chris Bradshaw still around?
- Everyone wants to be like Mike !
- no snow anytime soon it seems :/

For industry/old-heads, as well as proponents of women in boarding (which we should all be btw), we’ve got Shannon Dunn-Downing on The Bomb Hole, as well as a brief interview with Donna Carpenter on Shop Eat Surf. Not a tonnn of content on that one, but it’s rare to get a peak into the mind of Burton’s top dawg.

As we wait for the full season kickoff we wanted to highlight a few things going on in the wider boarding world. The race for Thrasher’s SOTY is on and absolutely wild parts are coming out at a rapid-fire pace. Tom Scharr’s Curtains part is the most recent example. Dunno when the last time a transition skater won SOTY, but this dude is definitely deserving. We also thoroughly enjoyed the surfer Harry Bryant’s latest film Roasted. It’s beautifully filmed, the surfing is impressive and unique, and the locations are surprising (pretty sure the last wave is in fucking China?!? Not supposed to call this out but they gave away far too many landmarks, so this one’s on them).

Here’s your Instagram Clip of the Week: Dad Strength is Real.

And your Instagram Photo of the Week: Gawd Damn, Joseph Roby, this if fire.
