Torment Weather Report: Following the monumental snowstorms we saw in the Southeast United States, we've been patiently waiting for some storms in the Rockies. It's been a dry couple of weeks in North America, but the storms appear to be rolling in.
Last week, a small resort in New Hampshire had a malfunction and one of the chairs detached from the cable. That said chair, with one lone rider on it, fell 20 feet. The dude was a soldier though, and walked it off without any life-threatening injures. Talk about getting a hipper on the mountain.
"The incident remains under investigation by the fire marshal's office and the Passenger Tramway Safety Board. It will include a review of the records of past inspections. New Hampshire state law requires mechanical lifts to be registered and inspected annually, with additional random checks during the year. The last state inspection was in November 2024, according to the fire marshal's office."
In other news, Nick Russell is still an absolute badass, ripping down first descents just for the love of the game.
"Tucked deep in the Indian Himalaya is a 21,165-foot behemoth called the Peak of Evil, the face is split by a line so perfect and massive it pushed the skills of even the most renowned ski mountaineers. Papsura: Peak of Evil follows professional snowboarders Nick Russell and Jerry Mark from California’s Sierra Nevada to this remote corner of the world’s greatest mountain range as they harness years of experience in pursuit of the biggest line of their lives."
Shaun White entered the NHL space with a Whitespace x Utah Hockey Club collab pack. The collection consists of a hoodie, hat, and board. The board features an incredibly innovative ice rink graphic with Whitespace’s staple base design. At $100 a hoodie, save yourself the trouble and take our word on this one: you're money is better spent on an overpriced lift ticket.
If you needed more on the subject, here's the Flying Tomato attending the Utah Hockey Club game to celebrate the collaboration with the team.
Sunday in the Park is still kicking, and while it may not carry the weight it once did, this week’s episode brings back some SoCal vibes with Ryan Pluche and Mike Gray leading the charge.
Can always count on the hometown heroes to remind you why Big Bear is such a fun place to board—with or without snow.
In an unexpected turn of events, Scott Stevens left Union Bindings last week. Scott is jumping aboard the new Thirtytwo Fase binding project alongside a solid list of heavy hitters. We haven't tried these things out, but hard to argue with a list like that one.
Stunt is back with a shop update for 2025, and after their collaboration with Derek Lemke, Brent Behm and Cooper Vosburg last year, we hope they continue doing what they're doing.

Travis Rice said it best: Metal base? How do you keep that speed-! Ha
Ended up doing a deep dive on this account, and realized just how much sand boarding is out there. Rabbit holed to @navesandboard...recommend a five-minute scroll on that.
