Growing up in a prairie household in Regina, Saskatchewan, long before YouTube algorithms were feeding kids their next obsession, snowboard videos were Mark’s window into a world that felt impossibly far away.
Alongside his brother Craig, he spent countless hours watching riders like JP Walker, Devun Walsh, and Eero Ettala, trying to recreate what they saw at their local hill, Mission Ridge, and in the streets of Regina. For two kids from the flatlands, those films became a blueprint. When they finally got the chance to head west and into the mountains, the lessons started to come to life.
To this day, Mark can probably name a snowboard movie from the opening notes of its soundtrack faster than most people can identify their own ringtone. If a video part was released between 2000 and 2015, there’s a good chance Mark knows the song, who rode to it and what trick closed the part. In many ways, Mark is what happens when a kid watches too many snowboard movies, but it worked out pretty well.

JP Walker - Mack Dawg's Technical Difficulties (1999)
JP's Part 3:05
This was when I first fell in love with snowboarding. Everything about this part stood out to me! JP’s ability to ride all terrain, the fucking lanyard steee, and the song choice made a massive impact on me.
Eero Ettala - Mack Dawg's Follow Me Around (2006)
Eero's Part 35:55
This was the first snowboard dvd we owned. We burned that thing into the ground! It lived in the Honda Odyssey and we watched Eero’s part every single time we’d step into the van. Which was A LOT lol. Eero was also the full package! Personality shines through along with his incredible ability to film next level video parts. The NBD double bs rodeo 1080 will forever be ingrained in my brain. He was so far ahead of his time!!!
Mikkel Bang - Transworld Snow's In Color (2010)
In my eyes, Mikkel was the best snowboarder I’d ever stood beside. I was right on the cusp of being a pro, making some money and doing events like Arctic Challenge, Euro X Games, and US Open alongside him. That fall I became his teammate on Burton and Oakley. It was surreal, and I was literally over the moon to be in his presence. Mikkel did every trick with utter grace in this part and still does to this day. The bs 180 no grab is one of my favorite shots of all time. The whole part is a fucking master piece!
Jed Anderson - Ride Snowboards "Rated R" (2023)
Craig and I grew up massive Jed Anderson fans. He only lived seven hours away and was similar in age. We saw him in the flesh a few times and were always amazed by his aura. This part really shows his skateboarding eye, which makes for a beautiful street snowboard part. Guy’s in his own league when it comes to street snowboarding.
He’s our GOAT hands down. The ender clip shows you that he really got it like that. It’s insane. Jed I have become pretty close pals over the past six or so years. We took two completely different paths but have nothing but respect for one another.
Travis Rice - That's It, That's All (2008)
Travis was a superhero to me. I will never forget watching this movie for the first time and thinking to myself “no one will ever touch this guy when it comes to backcountry.” Quite frankly, no one has even come close.
His work ethic matched up with his talent and balls is nothing to play with. My fav T. Rice era… The cinematography was ahead of its time, the music spoke to everyone, and the tricks were undeniably amazing!
