Everyone around Sammy Rowse seemed to feed off his energy and benefit from it. And when you went snowboarding with him, that energy was amplified ten-fold. Sammy brought the hype whether you were at the resort or in the streets, and every session was a good fucking time with him there.
He accomplished so much within the snowboard world, having clips in multiple Brown Cinema videos, and Screwdriver. In life he was an artist, always creating and inventing new concepts and ideas that were quite frankly genius. From Bullshit Bumper Stickers, to Dogswag Worldwide, to custom stomp pads, to Spiritual Snowboards, to his own painting, to graphics and creative for some of snowboarding’s most respected brands and entities, Sammy’s honest ingenuity inspired us and everyone that encountered him. Often taking a satirical approach to serious and existential subject matter; this was the Sammy vibe we all loved.
Last weekend we celebrated the life of our dear friend. A couple hundred people traveled from all over the globe to Nederland, Colorado to share their love for one of the best people to ever walk this earth. He was the type of person to give you the shirt off his back. People say that as a metaphor, but he would literally take his shirt off and give it to a stranger who said they liked it. This happened multiple times, it wasn’t some sort of an act. He was just an incredibly generous person. If he had something, it was for everyone.
Like a rock, Sammy was as strong as he could be, and we will never forget the moments we shared with him. Rest in peace Sammy, we love you.
