Usually, an RV doesn't make its way into the equation of a snowboard trip. The thought of being confined to van life for weeks on end doesn't sound the most appealing, but for Austin Smith and Erik Leon that was the only option. Everything was pretty booked out, and given the two had planned this trip to Hokkaido back in November 2023, they were locked in.
Add Tyler Orton into the mix, and the trio was mobile, exploring parts of the island that most would overlook. They ended up finding the goods in one of the northernmost towns: Haboro. It feels safe to say they wouldn't have ventured out there if they were bound to an Airbnb, so turns out the lack of vacancy was their biggest advantage.
