If you knew Pash, you knew the impact he had on everyone around him. And even if you didn’t, chances are he helped someone you know. Whether it was photo help, mentorship, or backing a rider, his reach ran deep—six degrees of separation in its purest form.

In honor of that legacy, Taylor Boyd and Erin Pashley created the Nice Piece Scholarship, an initiative designed to support an emerging photographer or videographer in taking their craft to the next level.

About The Scholarship:

Intended for someone already documenting snowboarding and/or skiing who’s ready to take the next step in their career, the Nice Piece scholarship will provide funding toward equipment and travel for an up-and-coming photographer or videographer, as well as an invite to Low Maintenance at Baldface Lodge to shoot alongside a mentor.

Alex built his life around snowboarding and the mountains, and selection will prioritize originality, commitment to the craft, and a clear dedication to the culture of snowsports. Applications will be judged by Alex’s wife, Erin Pashley, alongside a small group of Alex’s close friends.

Donations will be facilitated by CORE, a nonprofit founded by professional snowboarder Erik Leon working to expand access to the outdoors.

Application window: March 17 – March 27
Recipient announced: April 1

A photo exhibit benefiting the scholarship will take place March 20 in Steamboat, coinciding with the Pash & Burn Banked Slalom, TNF MTN Mix, and CORE Rail Jam. Proceeds from print sales (as well as limited tees and stickers) will go toward the scholarship.
