22 years. That's probably older than some of you reading this. The Last Call can legally drink, and with that has become the longest running event on the East Coast. Over the course of its two-decade-long reign, a certain lore has grown, and rightfully so. We've gotten to watch some of the biggest names step up to some of the gnarliest features (reference the beginning of Zeb Powell's insanity or Timmy Sullivan's iconic air), so an invite to this event acts as a right of passage of sorts. Still, the legend of the Last Call is hard pinpoint, so we're gonna hyperlink a miniseries on the history of the event below.
This year, like every year, Loon built a course that allowed for some pretty insane riding. An eclectic list of snowboarders convened for a level of free-for-all madness we can always get behind, and luckily Cole St. Martin was there to witness it all. He's been attending this event longer than most, so we think some CSM words act as the perfect compliment to Parrish's footage.
"22 years is a long time to keep the pedal on the gas, but Eastern Boarder and Loon have continued testing a rider’s strength and agility. This year we were blessed with the resurgence of the double rainbow challenge, 2 feet of snow two days prior, a volcano, and gaggle of high octane boarders. Folks really embrace the “take no prisoners” mentality, and I’m not sure I’ve seen so much action from ski patrol attending to those that truly had an eye on the prize.
Whether it was the double lawn darts or double rainbow gaps, Last Call certainly set the stage for heroism. I could sit here and rifle through all the heartwarming tricks and bails, but it’s likely going to be better watching the video. It’s also important that we thank Loon and EB for continuing to nurture generations of snowboarders for this long!"
