You can probably agree that snowboarding would be a lot less fun without someone to strap in with. Early morning rides to the mountain might be more peaceful, maybe, but the chairlift rides would soon turn too quiet. The après-ski even moreso. We’re not knocking a solo day—everyone’s favorite powder day adage definitely has some truth—but generally speaking, something of this nature should be shared. It’s too fun not to.
All that said, odds are you won’t be going to opening day without the company of your friends, and that reality is what brings us to Bryden Bowley's latest film, dorothy. Aside from the fact that Emma Crosby and Kennedi Deck are exceptionally talented boarders, their friendship also intertwines through the complexities of our community. This past winter they strapped in together in five distinct locations: Reykjavik, Romania, Vancouver, Minnesota and Salt Lake City. Each location reflects their perspective and understanding of snowboarding, and we back it—especially when Jake Kuzyk and a crew of friends are there to tag along.
Here’s to Dorothy, and all her friends.
