Long gone are the days when Keystone's A-51 reigned supreme or Breckenridge's jump line trumped all. Those years (basically from inception to 2015) marked an Epic pass-prioritized energy in the rockies, and with that came a pretty intense snowboard scene. A decade later, and things look a little different—yet that doesn't mean Colorado's scene is lacking on any front. The Epic got swapped out for the Ikon, sure, but the locals who consistently opted for Vail Pass and the surrounding zones have not slowed down. Greg Kennagh, Xander Raith, Steve Lauder, and Raibu Katayama are just a few names that have put more miles on I-70 than most, and that alone is telling of the winter they had. A long season in the backcountry with some of Colorado's finest.
"Summit County Colorado has rich snowboard history, but recently we feel like the snowboard community vibe has seen a decline. We felt like it would be fun to just go out and film with some of the locals and put together something to revive a sense of community in the area.
