Having grown up in the mountains of Colorado, Alex Pashley eventually followed the ironically well-worn path to SoCal to continue building his career in the snowsports industry. After a few years successfully scheming escapes that still allowed him to spend much of his year in the mountains, he was effectively given an ultimatum: stay by the beach or return to the mountains, without a job. Him and Erin packed up and moved to Steamboat. His love of snowmobiling, affinity for the Asmo, rolling local terrain, and continental snowpack often making anything above 30 degrees off limits, provided the catalyst for a bindingless renaissance on Buff Pass, led by Pash and a crew of locals, who pioneered the prime powsurf zone in this video. These days were fueled by what he called the Hippy Speedball: a doob and a caffeine tablet. As we continue processing the loss one of our dear friends, moments like this bring small smiles.
