Some FOMO on this one, but Colt Morgan and Simon Berghoef clutched up behind the lens. If the photos are any indication, Salt Lake City showed up to kick off the tour. A melting pot of brands, shops, riders, artists, and locals all came together for a proper night of yapping, more intentional yapping (in the form of multi-themed panels), art galleries, and DJ sets. Hell, even babies were pulling up to read Slush. Curious what their favorite photo was, but until we get to the bottom of that, we pieced together some of our favorites from the night alongside some words from the man himself.

I’ve been snowboarding since 1993. I was 12 or 13 when I discovered it. I didn’t even really know what snowboarding was back then. It was still such a small thing in France. I remember going to my local skate shop, seeing a snowboard, and just getting into it. I was in the southeast of France, and at our local resort, there were only three of us snowboarding. People looked at us like we were UFOs.
Fast forward a few years, and I started working with magazines, eventually becoming an artist and collaborating with a lot of companies in the skateboarding and snowboarding industries. Then, in 2025, I had this moment where I thought, Damn, I know this whole industry. I know the brands, the media, the people. What if I created something bigger than just me drawing graphics on snowboards? Designing boards is fun, obviously, but I wanted to do something with a bigger purpose.
So I sat down and started thinking about how I could bring the entire industry together. A place where people could meet, talk, connect, and share ideas, while also building relationships with local communities and traveling around the world.
The first edition was incredible. We traveled across nine different countries, including the US, Canada, Japan, China, France, Austria, Norway, Finland, and Switzerland.
It was insane. Honestly, some of the best days of my life. Getting to bring together all my heroes, the legends, the pioneers, the newcomers, the brands, the media, and everyone in between was something really special.
Because The Common Line is about much more than snowboarding. It’s about people. Through this project, I want to inspire young people to discover snowboarding, but I also want someone who’s never touched a snowboard in their life, no matter their age, to discover this world and think, Wow, what an incredible community.
The new season has just kicked off in Salt Lake City. Choosing Salt Lake was an obvious decision. I wanted to be right in the middle of the Mecca of snowboarding. And it was so special. Getting the chance to sit down with people like Mikey Leblanc, Peter Line, Bjorn Leines, Gabby Maiden, Justin Meyer, Jake Price, and so many others was unreal.
You have to understand that I grew up watching people like Mikey and Peter Line snowboard. They were my heroes. And then, 30 years later, they’re showing up to celebrate snowboarding with me and the community. That means everything to me.
Bringing the industry together is also about giving back. That’s a huge part of the project. Every brand sends us a snowboard, we paint them all white, bring in local artists to paint together, then raise money for S.T.A.Y and give back to the community. In Salt Lake City, we gave away 27 brand new snowboards from 27 different brands. That was incredible.
Having Desiree Melancon to moderate the conversation made the whole experience even more special. She’s a special person, so passionate.
Now we’re ready for the next stop: Minneapolis, on December 4th and 5th, followed by Whistler the weekend after. We have a lot of things planned and plenty of surprises coming, so it’s going to be exciting.
